Caroline LeCount Event

For Friends & Supporters of the Major OV Catto Society, Caroline LeCount was the fiancee of Catto and a fellow professor at the Institute of Colored Youth in Philadelphia (now Cheney University of Pennsylvania). 

The Rename Taney Coalition invites you to celebrate the life of Caroline LeCount on the 100th anniversary of her passing this week.  

This special gathering will be held at 11 a.m. this Saturday the 28th of January at Hatfield House, at the corner of Girard Avenue and 33rd street.  

Please join us as we honor Philadelphia’s Rosa Parks, with words from Fasaha Traylor, co-author of “They Carried Us: The Social Impact of Philadelphia’s Black Women Leaders.”

Of particular interest will be the unveiling of our tombstone for Caroline LeCount’s grave at Eden Cemetery.
