Annual Lincoln Birthday Celebration Parade and Ceremonies, sponsored by the Union League of Philadelphia took place on Friday February 11, 2022.

“Spectacular weather, a large contingent of ‘living historians’ and a large and enthusiastic crowd of Union League members and citizens created a most memorable tribute to our martyred president.” — Andy Waskie, President of the General Meade Society.

Civil War military units, including the General Meade Society, civilians, and heritage groups marched in the parade through Philadelphia to Independence Hall to honor President Lincoln on his birthday. Participants gathered at the Union League, 140 S. Broad St. at 10 am and re-convened back at the League for a complimentary luncheon.

There are some wonderful photos of the parade available on Rich Reck’s photography website:

Other participants posted some photos as well, and the GMS thanks them all!
