“Whoever wants to know the heart and mind of America had better learn baseball, the rules and realities of the game …” – Jacques Barzun

The Phillies Phaithful traveled once again to the Ball Park to see our Phils take on the Washington Nationals.

The Society’s Baseball Scribe writes:

“On a hot humid night, Tuesday, August 28th, 68 stalwart baseball fans, all members and friends of the Society ventured to Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia to see Our Nine take on the Washington Nationals in Major League action. The game was close with the Phillies on top 3 – 2 as the top of the ninth inning started. The Nationals scored 3 runs to take a 5 – 3 lead on a two run home run and a throwing error.
In the bottom of the ninth Our Nine rallied for a single run to make it 5 – 4. A double play executed by the Nationals brought the game to an end. With the loss to Washington, our record since 2004 when we started our ‘Night At The Phillies” stands at 9 wins and 6 losses. Not bad, the membership is still over .500. Many thanks to all who attended.
Hope you enjoy the pics – last photo is that ugly overthrow at home plate.

All the best, Tom Kearney”

And many thanks to Tom for his handling of our ticket seating and getting the Society’s name on the Jumbotron!
